COM-2(PC)F is an interface board of the ISA bus conformity to expand the RS-232C serial communication port of two channels to a PC. It adopts 16550 UART equivalency product and supports asynchronous serial transmission of 50 or more 115,200bps. For every channel, it can choose "a compatible mode" or "the enhanced mode".

Compatible mode (COM 1-4): It is the mode which assigns and uses two channels for a personal computer standard serial port (COM1-COM4). One IRQ level is required for each channel. Since it is treated as a standard serial port, software other than the support software of non-PlugPlay OS or CONTEC can also be operated.
Enhanced mode: Control two channels by one interruption level at an enhanced mode. It can operate, even when there is only one interruption level which can be used with the personal computer of use. Moreover, an I/O Address uses the original address of CONTEC. Therefore, it is necessary to make driver software himself, using CONTEC driver software (option). Programming of an enhanced mode differs from the compatible mode.
Transmission of the serial data of two channels can be performed on this one interface board.
It has the serial input-and-output port of RS-232C conformity two channels.
A setup of a transmission rate can be set up by software out of 50-115,200bps. Moreover, the transmission rate of a channel 1 and a channel 2 is independent, and can be set up.
