CONTEC Launches USB2.0-Compliant Compact Serial I/O Unit
One Serial I/O Unit Expands RS-232C-Standard 4-Port
CONTEC CO., LTD. (Tokyo Stock Exchange Code: 6639) today introduced the new USB2.0-compliant compact serial I/O unit that expands RS-232C-Standard 4-port to computer that support USB. CONTEC plans to ship COM-4CX-USB September 1, 2011 as a new product in the PC-HELPER series.

The new product, COM-4CX-USB is a unit that is expandable RS-232C serial communication 4-port to Windows-based computer which supports USB1.1 or 2.0. This product helps to connect commercial equipment, such as measurement equipment or audio/ video equipment, with laptop or desktop computer that don’t support RS-232C serial port to perform data communication. The maximum baud rate is 921,600ps, and each port is equipped with FIFO buffers (Transmit: 128-byte, Receive: 384-byte). It provides stability data transfer at high-speed communication. Furthermore, each 4 port is equipped with D-SUB connectors. So you can use store-bought serial cables when you connect COM-4CX-USB with equipments.
